Tick Checks

After spending time outdoors, thoroughly check your body for ticks, paying close attention to areas such as the hairline, behind the ears, under the arms, and around the waistline. Promptly remove any attached ticks with tweezers, grasping them as close to the skin as possible and pulling upward with steady pressure.

Tick Control Products

Consider using tick control products in your yard. Acaricides (tick pesticides) can be applied to your yard by professionals to reduce tick populations. Additionally, there are tick repellent products available for use on clothing and outdoor gear, which can provide an extra layer of protection.

Pet Protection

Protect your pets from ticks by using tick preventives recommended by your veterinarian. Regularly check your pets for ticks and promptly remove any you find. Additionally, you can create a tick barrier in your yard by using fencing or gravel to prevent wildlife, such as deer, from entering your property.

Education

Stay informed about tick-borne diseases and their prevention. Educate yourself and your family about the symptoms of tick-borne illnesses, such as Lyme disease, and seek medical attention if you suspect a tick bite or develop any related symptoms.
